Actress Lindsay Lohan, who has been a frequent target of the tabloids for her partying ways, has begun attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, her publicist said on Friday.

“It’s true,” Dina Lohan,the 20-year-old actress’ mother, told Ryan Seacrest’s morning show on KIIS FM radio in Los Angeles. “A lot of people she hangs out with go and it’s a positive thing.”
“As a parent you tell them what you can tell them, but she’s 20 and I’m not gonna say stay home and don’t go out,” she told the KIIS host. “That’s a ridiculous thing to do. When you’re 20 you have to learn a lot on your own so I’m there for support and I’ll obviously give her my opinion, but she’s fine. She’s OK.”
“Yes, she’s been attending some meetings, and it’s going to be a slow process. This is a positive. Let’s hope that the press doesn’t turn it into a negative.” said Leslie Sloane,Lohan’s publicist.Further more thr publicist added “Maybe if (the press) backs off on her she’ll be in a good space.Let’s see if we don’t have to hear about it every day, and they’re following her and trying to find her. Because that will just really not be good.”
